Your pet's feeding ,watering pans and utensils should be washed and rinsed with hot water separete from people's dishes, utensils and silverware.
People and children should not kiss animals and definitely should not eat from the same plates.
Bird cages, fish tanks, terrariums and tanks or cages for turtles, iguanas, lizards, snakes, etc. must be washed and sanitized separately as they can represent a serious health risk for people.
Make sure your pets are vaccinated periodically against their preventable infectious diseases.
Wash your hands meticulously with plenty of soap and hot water after handling animals and their utensils such as cages, pans and sand boxes.
Learn basic first aid technics and keep somethings at hand to be able to help your pet if necessary while you take him to the veterinarian.
Learn about poisons and toxic substances and also keep them away from your pets as well as people.
