Jesus Christ, the Wonderful Counselor

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor....."

Why do we need this Wonderful Counselor?

Five powerful terms that reveal the need:
a. Gloom, depression.
b. Distress: stress to the maximum, unbearable anymore.
c. Darkness, ignorance, sorrow.
d. Destruction, decay.
e. Death: morally, emotionally, relationally, spiritually, physically.

Notice the therapy or counsel provided:
a. There will be release, closure.
b. There will be an increase of joy and happiness.
c. A great light will shine.
d. There will be fulfilment, hope and consolation.

What makes this Counselor so wonderful?
a. He knows exactly our needs.
b. He understands our needs.
c. He cares for us.
d. He is available anytime and all the time.
e. The price is right.
f. He has all power and wisdom. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR HIM.

How does He provides His Counsel?
a. We secures His Counsel through the Bible which becomes alive as we read and meditate upon it.
b. Through Providence, guidance and divine coincidences.
c. Through the Holy Spirit that dwell in us.
d. Through other believers and other people.

JESUCRISTO, EL ADMIRABLE CONSEJERO.

"Porque un niño nos es nacido, hijo nos es dado, y el principado sobre su hombro; y se llamará su nombre Admirable Consejero...."

¿Porque necesitamos a este Admirable Consejero?

Estas son cinco poderosas razones:
a, Depresión, tristeza.
b. Pesadumbre, preocupaciones, estres al máximo imposible de soportarlo mas.
c. Oscurantismo, ignorancia.
d. Desmoronamiento, destrucción.
e. Muerte, moral, emocional, social, espiritual, física.

¿Que tipo de consejos y terapia nos ofrece?
a. Nos liberará.
b. Nos brindará paz, gozo y felicidad.
c. Vislumbraremos un horizonte brillante y luminoso.
d. Tendremos esperanza, satisfacción, tranquilidad y comodidad.

¿Porque es El un Consejero tan Admirable?
a. El sabe exactamente nuestras penas y necesidades.
b. El entiende nuestras tribulaciones, necesidades, penas y angustias.
c. El se preocupa por nosotros.
d. El está disponible todo el tiempo.
e. No nos cobra por ayudarnos.
f. El posée todo el poder y sabiduría. NADA LE ES IMPOSIBLE.

¿ Como nos proporciona sus consejos?
a. Atravéz de La Biblia, la cual cobra vida y relevancia conforme mas la leémos y meditamos .
b. Atravéz de Providencia, guiándonos y por medio de coincidencias divinas.
c. Por medio de El Espiritu Santo que vive en cada uno de nosotros.
d. Por medio de otros creyentes y otras personas.

SELF GOVERNMENT or PERSONAL GOVERNMENT

Self government can be defined as doing the Lord's will and not ours: doing what we should and not what we want. It includes:

1. Worshiping God.
The main purpose of man it to glorify God and find joy with Him forever, developing a personal ongoing covenant relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ in which we are saved by grace and sanctified by obedience. It includes:
a.) personal prayer, Bible reading, study and meditation,
b.) meeting and interacting with other believers,
c.) observing the Day of Rest or Sabbath.

So he answered and said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind," and "your neighbor as yourself." Luke 10:27 NKJV

2. Charity.
Love thy neighbor as thyself. It can also be defined as righteousness in action and treating others as you expect to be treated. It includes:
a.) Showing mercy and helping the needy.
b.) Speaking the truth, discipling, evangelizing.
c.) Getting involved in society and government to change and reclaim the institutions.

"...for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me." Matt. 25:35-36 NKJV

3. Work.
The fact that man is God's creation, made in His image, is the foundation for his self estime, self preservation, human dignity and work. It includes:
a.) Provide for ourself and our family. Individuals will start businesses and create wealth.
b.) Bless the nations as the individual provides goods and services.

"Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it." Gen. 2:15 NKJV


"The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich." Prov. 13:4 NKJV

"The desire of the lazy man kills him, For his hands refuse to labor." Prov. 21:25 NKJV

"For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat." 2 Thess. 3:10 NKJV

AUTOGOBIERNO O GOBIERNO PERSONAL


Puede definirse como vivir haciendo la voluntad de Dios y no la nuestra: como vivir haciendo la que debemos y no lo que queremos. Los aspectos principales del autogobierno son:


1. Adorar a Dios.
El propósito principal del hombre es glorificar a Dios y encontrar gozo en El siempre, desarrollando una continua y creciente relación con El por medio de su hijo, Jesucristo, en la cual somos salvados por gracia y santificados por obediencia. Incluye:
a.) Oración personal, lectura bíblica, estudio y meditación.
b.) Reunirse e interactuar con otros creyentes.
c.) Observar el Día de Reposo.

"Aquel, respondiendo, dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con todas tus fuerzas, y con toda tu mente; y a tu prójimo como a ti mismo." Lucas 10:27

2. Caridad.
Amar a tu prójimo como a ti mismo, tratar a otros como deseamos que nos traten a nosotros: moralidad y virtuosidad en acción. Incluye:
a.) Tener misericordia y ayudar a los necesitados.
b.) Hablar la verdad, disipular y evangelizar.
c.) Involucrarse en la sociedad y en el gobierno para influenciar y cambiar las instituciones.

"Porque tuve hambre, y me disteis de comer; tuve sed, y me disteis de beber; fui forastero, y me recogisteis; estuve desnudo, y me cubristeis; enfermo, y me visitasteis; en la cárcel, y vinisteis a mí." S. Mateo 25:35,36

3. Trabajo.
El hecho que el hombre fué creado por Dios a su imagen y semejanza es razón para que se autoestime, se autopreserve, se dignifique y trabaje. Incluye:
a.) Proveer para el mismo y para su familia. El hombre iniciará negocios y creará riqueza.
b.) Bendecir a su nación conforme el hombre le provéa bienestar y servicios.

"Tomó, pues, Jehová Dios al hombre, y lo puso en el huerto de Edén, para que lo labrara y lo guardase." Gen. 2:15

"El alma del perezoso desea, y nada alcanza; mas el alma de los diligentes será prosperada." Proverbios 13:4

"El deséo del perezoso le mata, porque sus manos no quieren trabajar." Proverbios 21:25

"Porque también cuando estábamos con vosotros, os ordenábamos esto: Si alguno no quiere trabajar, tampoco coma." 2 Tesalonicenses. 3:10

THE TIME FOR A MIRACLE IS HERE

The best candidates for a miracle are those without an option, those who have come to a dead end and are desperate.

With all humbleness and submission we have to get on our knees at home, at church, everywhere now and ask our Lord "JEHOVAH' with all sincerity and commitment to forgive us for our sins, repent and get rid of the temptation to fall back into our old ways of living and from now on follow the only perfect standard THE HOLY BIBLE.

We must be completely commited to God's will if we want and expect Him to help us.

Let's remember that whenever and wherever there is human despair and/or suffering, there we will find Jesus Christ.Let's repent of our sins so that we can pray imploring that God Almighty and Merciful may Bless America again while there is still time.

"...if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked way, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chron. 7:14

NECESITAMOS UN MILAGRO

El mejor candidato para recibir un milagro es aquél que se encuentra en una situación desesperada, sin opciones, en un callejón sin salida.

Con toda humildad debemos arrodillarnos ahora, en nuestros hogares, iglesias, en todos lados, implorándole a nuestro Señor JEHOVA, con toda sinceridad que perdone nuestros pecados, arrepentirnos y deshechar la tentación de volver a nuestra desviada forma de vida y jurar de hoy en adelante vivir siguiendo el perfecto estandard, la Sagrada Biblia.

Debemos estar totalmente deseosos de que Jesucristo nos ayude, si queremos y esperamos que El nos escuche y ayude. Recordemos que donde prevalece la deseperación y/o el sufrimiento humano ahí es donde encontramos a Jesucristo.

Arrepintámonos de nuestros pecados para poder orar o rezar que Dios Todo Poderoso, Lleno de Gracia y Bondad se apiade de nosotros y nuevamente BENDIGA a AMERICA, mientras todavía hay tiempo.

Si se humillare mi pueblo, sobre el cual mi nombre es invocado, y oraren, y buscaren mi rostro, y se convirtieran de sus malos caminos; entonces yo oiré desde los cielos, y perdonaré sus pecados, y sanaré su tierra.

CREATED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. OUR CHILDREN. Final part.

It should be very clear to the children that the authority at home is the father and the mother. By not enforcing this principle we become accomplices of our children. We should even allow them to make some errors in order for them to grow with responsibility and identity.

We should set rules and conditions in our homes. It should be very clear they fully understand when the parents say NO.

The Parental figure should imply true love, respect and consideration.

Teach them to earn and manage their own money and the importance and privilege for them to get an education and pursue a profession. They should learn to follow the golden rule in their relation with others. Teach them to honor, respect and love themselves.

Parents most teach their children respect, responsibility, honesty, humbleness, courtesy, prudence, generosity, thankfulness and nobleheartedness in order for them to develop self government and become excellent human beings.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Prov. 22:6

CREADOS PARA HACER LA DIFERENCIA - NUESTROS HIJOS. Parte final

Los niños deben entender claramente que el padre y la madre son la autoridad en el hogar.

Debemos aún permitirles a nuestro hijos incurrir en algunos errores, para que puedan así aprender las consecuencias de sus acciones y pueden desarrollar responsabilidad e identidad.

Como padres, debemos establecer reglas y condiciones en el hogar y los hijos deben entender claramente cuando los padres dicen NO.

Se les debe enseñar como ganar y administrar su propio dinero y la importancia y el privilegio que es obtener una educación y una profesión. Se les debe enseñar a seguir la regla de oro en su trato y relación con otras personas. Deben aprender a honrarse, respetarse y quererse ellos mismos.

Los padres deben enseñarle a sus hijos respeto, responsabilidad, honestidad, humildad, cortesia, prudencia, generosidad, ser agradecidos y nobleza. Todos estos atributos los convertiran en excelentes seres humanos, poséedores de un gran autogobierno.

CREADOS PARA HACER LA DIFERENCIA.

Es un gran gozo y una bendición de Dios, darle un hijo o hija a un matrimonio. Es un milagro observar como se inicia una vida. Como padres responsables nos preocupa pensar que le depará el destino a una nueva criatura cuando arriva a un mundo lleno del bién y el mal.
Subitamente los nuevos padres comprendemos que además de ese gran regozijo hemos recibido una gran responsabilidad de criár, formar y cuidar a un nuevo hijo o hija hasta que alcancen su mayoría de edad y pueden continuar su vida por si solos.

Desde un principio los padres debemos inculcar en el niño que tenga su propia identidad y que séa independiente para prepararlos a sobrevivir una vida dificil y dura.

No debemos confundir nuestro verdadero amor con alcahuetearlos, abrumándolos con una vida facil e irresponsable, llenándolos de cosas materiales y cediendo a sus caprichos y berrinches o resolviendo todos sus problemas, para evitar que crescan creyendo que todo lo que necesitan hacer es exigir cosas y que es la obligación de los padres darles todo lo que quieren.
Si cedemos a sus caprichos los hijos crecerán egoístas, inútiles, aprovechadores y exigentes.
Desde un principio los hijos deben aprender lo que es un comportamiento correcto y que está bién y que está mal, es decir debemos corregirlos. Si como padres no lo hacemos, les estamos causando daño.
"Instruye al niño en su camino y aún cuando llegue a viejo no se apartará de el."
Proverbios 22:6

CREATED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

It is a joy and a blessing from God to have a baby. It is a miracle to observe how life begins. Responsible parents wonder what the future holds for the new creature as he/she arrives into a world of good and evil.

Suddenly parents realize that, beside all the joy and amazement of the birth and becoming a father and a mother, comes great responsibility to care, provide and nurture the new baby thru the years of growth, formation and education until the child is old enough to go thru life on his own.

From the beginning parents have to encourage children to be themselves, with responsibility, individuality and independence to prepare them for the hard life ahead.
As parents we must not confuse true love with spoiling them, overwhelming them with material things and giving in to their demands and tantrums or try to solve all their problems. In order to keep them from becoming selfish and demanding, children should not be allowed to grow up thinking that all they have to do is demand things and it is the obligation of the parents to oblige them.
Parents have the duty to teach what is good behavior and what is not, what the rules are, what is good and what is bad. We are harming them if we do not do this.

SELF-GOVERNMENT, Part 2 - AUTOGOBIERNO, 2a. Parte

Self-government is to do God's will and not ours and through obedience bringing transforming life out of our lives into everything we touch and influence. To the contrary, when man becomes the focus of self government, it falls into anarchy.

All true freedom begins with self-government under God.

All man's spheres of government including self-government, are given by God and should render account to Him.

Spiritual misery produces material misery. Spiritual prosperity produces material prosperity.

The more truly christian a culture is, the more it is moral, free, productive and civilized.

Christian withdrawal brings decay, collapse and death to society.

A man cannot get out until his task or mission has been fulfilled.

Man is the image of God and His legitimate representative on earth.

Autogobierno es hacer la voluntad de Dios y en obediencia a El, transformar nuestra vida en todo lo que hacemos e influenciamos. Por lo contrario, cuando el hombre es el foco del autogobierno, este resulta en anarquía.

Todo gobierno del hombre es dado por Dios y debe rendirle cuentas a El.

Miseria espiritual produce miseria material. Prosperidad espiritual produce prosperidad material.

En cuanto mas cristiana es una nación, sociedad o cultura, mas moral, libre, productiva y civilizada es.

El retiro del cristianismo tráe podredumbre, colapso y muerte a una sociedad.

El hombre no puede evadir o escapar su responsabilidad hasta que su misión haya sido culminada.

Toda verdadera libertad principia con un autogobierno en obediencia a Dios.

El hombre es la imagen de Dios y su representante legítimo en la tierra.

Los verdaderos derechos humanos vienen de Dios al hombre y no del hombre.

AUTOGOBIERNO - 1a. Parte

El primer paso para iniciar el cambio en una nación, es reconocer que debemos comensar de cero, como quién dice "borrón y cuenta nueva." De lo contrario solo nos estamos engañando, pues si seguimos evadiendo responsabilidades, siempre echándole la culpa a otros por nuestra situación, nunca mejoraremos.
Si seguimos haciendo las cosas de la misma manera, lo resultados siempre serán los mismos.

La piedra angular en la transformación de una nación es el individuo: es decir, usted y yo. De el actuar y el desenvolvimiento de él o ella dependerá como serán las familias, las iglesias, los gobiernos, los negocios, el trabajo, los deportes y toda otra manifastación de esa sociedad.

El hombre debe aceptar que por designios de Dios, el nace donde y cuando nace y que al nacer arriva en un campo de batalla entre el bién y el mal. Cada persona nace con una misión que cumplir durante su vida en la tierra y que al final tendrá que entregar cuentas. La guía o estandar son Jesucristo y la Sagradas Escrituras.

¿QUE ES AUTOGOBIERNO? Es hacer lo que se debe y no lo que se quiere.
Es hacer la voluntad de Dios y no la nuestra. Es tratar a otros como esperamos que nos traten a nosotros.


"Oh Dios, ¡pon en mi un corazón limpio!,
¡dame un espíritu nuevo y fiel!, no me apartes de tu presencia ni me quites tu santo espíritu." S
almos 51:10, 11

SELF GOVERNMENT - Part I

The first step to change a nation is to recognize that we have to start from zero. Otherwise we will only be fooling ourselves. As long as we avoid our responsibilities and blame others for our misfortunes, we will never improve. If we continue doing things in the same manner, we will alway arrive at the same outcome.

The cornerstone in the transformation of a nation is the individual....in other words, you and me. The behavior and development of the individual will determine how the family, the church, civil government, businesses, work ethics, and every other manifestation of that society will be.

Man has to accept that it is God who decides when and where he is born and that he is born into a battle field of good and evil. Each one of us comes with a mission to accomplish during our journey on earth and at the end of our life we have to give an account of ourselves.

The textbook or standard to follow is Jesus Christ and the Holy Scriptures.

WHAT IS SELF GOVERNMENT? It is to do what we should and not what we want. It is to do God's will and not our own. It is to treat others as we expect to be treated by others.


"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a
right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me." Psalm 51:10-11

CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resucitation for Unconscious Dogs and Cats, Part I


If not breathing:
Check for pulse in the upper part of the inside of the hind leg and feel chest wall behind left elbow for heart beat. Pull the tongue out and check mouth for any obstruction or vomit and remove.

Cats and small dogs:
a. Kneel facing pet.
b. Place hand under chest, the other palm over rib cage behind left elbow.
c. Compress chest about 1 inch and relax.
d. Repeat 10 times and then give one forced breath. Your mouth will cover their nose and mouth together.
e. Continue at this rate until you feel pulse or heartbeat or for 20 minutes.

Medium and Large Dogs:
a. Place pet on right side.
b. Kneel behind pet.
c. Compress chest behind dog's left elbow with one of your hands, one on top of the other.
d. Compress chest about 3 inches each time and relax.
e. Repeat 10 times and then give one forced breath.
f. Rest of procedure, same as for small dogs.

For medium and large dogs, hold the mouth closed and place your mouth over dog's nose. Blow into animal's nose and feel the chest expand one inch for small dogs and cats and 2 or 3 inches for medium and large dogs. If the animal is unable to continue breathing on his own, keep doing CPR until you can take him to a veterinary hospital.

Not Again....

One of the things I was glad to leave behind in my country of origin was the flagrant manipulation by powerful special interest groups of the presidential elections held every 4 years, lying to the people offering so much without any intention to deliver or accomplish it. In most cases these special groups (call them communists, socialists, extreme right, liberation theology clergy, the army, narco cartels, or foreign powers and organization) picked puppet candidates that they could manipulate at will, leaving the vast majority of the population without true representation and imposing a president that would promote their agenda. No one ever knew who was really running the country.

It would always get to the point that the only option that would be offered to the voters was to vote to elect the least bad of the candidates or to vote against the worst one.

Obviously under those circumstances, the future of the country was a predicted failure. The only thing for sure was that every new government ended up being worse than the one before: however, the manipulators expected the population to enjoy it and feel good because in the midst of our deteriorating situation we were to be proud of our democratic system so respectful of "so-called" human rights.

The truth is anarchy, corruption and failed governments.

Our Real Roots

Our real roots...A history lesson that needs to be told....



OUR REAL ROOTS:
This is one e-mail that needs to be shared. But then, we may already be too late. God help us.
Did you know that 52 of the 55 signers of The Declaration of Independence were orthodox, deeply committed Christians? The other three all believed in the Bible as the divine truth, the God of scripture, and His personal intervention.
It is the same congress that formed the American Bible Society. Immediately after creating the Declaration of Independence, the Continental Congress voted to purchase and import 20,000 copies of scripture for the people of this nation.
Patrick Henry, who is called the firebrand of the American Revolution, is still remembered for his words, 'Give me liberty or give me death.' But in current textbooks the context of these words is deleted. Here is what he said: 'An appeal to arms and the God of hosts is all that is left us. But we shall not fight our battle alone. There is a just God that presides over the destinies of nations. The battle sir, is not of the strong alone. Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it almighty God. I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death.'
These sentences have been erased from our textbooks.
Was Patrick Henry a Christian? The following year, 1776, he wrote this 'It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For that reason alone, people of other faiths have been afforded freedom of worship here.'
Consider these words that Thomas Jefferson wrote on the front of his well- worn Bible: 'I am a Christian, that is to say a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus. I have little doubt that our whole country will soon be rallied to the unity of our Creator and, I hope, to the pure doctrine of Jesus also.'
Consider these words from George Washington, the Father of our Nation, in his farewell speech on September 19, 1796:
'It is impossible to govern the world without God and the Bible. Of all the dispositions and habits that lead to political prosperity, our religion and morality are the indispensable supporters. Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that our national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.'
Was George Washington a Christian? Consider these words from his personal prayer book: 'Oh, eternal and everlasting God, direct my thoughts, words and work. Wash away my sins in the immaculate blood of the lamb and purge my heart by the Holy Spirit. Daily, frame me more and more in the likeness of thy son, Jesus Christ, that living in thy fear, and dying in thy favor, I may in thy appointed time obtain the resurrection of the justified unto eternal life. Bless, O Lord, the whole race of mankind and let the world be filled with the knowledge of thy son, Jesus Christ.'
Consider these words by John Adams, our second president, who also served as chairman of the American Bible Society.
In an address to military leaders he said, 'We have no government armed with the power capable of contending with human passions, unbridled by morality and true religion. Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.'
How about our first Court Justice, John Jay?
He stated that when we select our national leaders, if we are to preserve our Nation, we must select Christians. 'Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian Nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.'
John Quincy Adams, son of John Adams, was the sixth U.S. President.
He was also the chairman of the American Bible Society, which he considered his highest and most important role. On July 4, 1821, President Adams said, 'The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.'
Calvin Coolidge, our 30th President of the United States reaffirmed this truth when he wrote, 'The foundations of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically universal in our country.'
In 1782, the United States Congress voted this resolution: 'The congress of the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all schools.'
William Holmes McGuffey is the author of the McGuffey Reader, which was used for over 100 years in our public schools with over 125 million copies sold until it was stopped in 1963. President Lincoln called him the 'Schoolmaster of the Nation.'
Listen to these words of Mr. McGuffey: 'The Christian religion is the religion of our country. From it are derived our notions on character of God, on the great moral Governor of the universe. On its doctrines are founded the peculiarities of our free institutions. From no source has the author drawn more conspicuously than from the sacred Scriptures. From all these extracts from the Bible I make no apology.'
Of the first 108 universities founded in America, 106 were distinctly Christian, including the first.
Harvard University, chartered in 1636. In the original Harvard Student Handbook rule number 1 was that students seeking entrance must know Latin and Greek so that they could study the scriptures:
'Let every student be plainly instructed and earnestly pressed to consider well, the main end of his life and studies is, to know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life, John 17:3; and therefore to lay Jesus Christ as the only foundation of all sound knowledge and learning. And seeing the Lord only giveth wisdom, let everyone seriously set himself by prayer in secret to seek it of him (Proverbs 2:3).'
For over 100 years, more than 50% of all Harvard graduates were pastors!
It is clear from history that the Bible and the Christian faith, were foundational in our educational and judicial system. However in 1947, there was a radical change of direction in the Supreme Court.
Here is the prayer that was banished:
'Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence on Thee. We beg Thy blessings upon us and our parents and our teachers and our country.
Amen.'
In 1963, the Supreme Court ruled that Bible reading was outlawed as unconstitutional in the public school system. The court offered this justification: 'If portions of the New Testament were read without explanation, they could and have been psychologically harmful to children.'
Bible reading was now unconstitutional , though the Bible was quoted 94 percent of the time by those who wrote our constitution and shaped our Nation and its system of education and justice and government.
In 1965, the Courts denied as unconstitutional the rights of a student in the public school cafeteria to bow his head and pray audibly for his food.
In 1980, Stone vs. Graham outlawed the Ten Commandments in our public schools.
The Supreme Court said this: 'If the posted copies of the Ten Commandments were to have any effect at all, it would be to induce school children to read them. And if they read them, meditated upon them, and perhaps venerated and observed them, this is not a permissible objective.'
Is it not a permissible objective to allow our children to follow the moral principles of the Ten Commandments?
James Madison, the primary author of the Constitution of the United States, said this: 'We have staked the whole future of our new nation, not upon the power of government; far from it. We have staked the future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments.'
Today we are asking God to bless America. But how can He bless a Nation that has departed so far from Him?
Most of what you read in this article has been erased from our textbooks. Revisionists have rewritten history to remove the truth about our country's Christian roots.

Discipling the Nation

As I sit on my back porch, admiring the majestic views of the rolling hills and distant mountains of the beautiful Sonora Desert, I wonder how we, disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, are failing to obey the Great Commission given to us to disciple the nation where we live.

When reading the newspapers, watching TV, checking Internet or talking and intermingling with other people, it is shocking to see so much blatant spiritual depravity and rebellion that has cropped up in what seems like just a short period of time.

As Christians we need to change our perspective and our attitude and get going to disciple and rebuild our country's godly foundations and beyond while we still have the freedom to do so. We need to review our role in self government, family government, church government, civil government, etc., as it relates to all spheres of human activities. Once we do this we can begin to develop a plan for the orderly restructuring of our society.

The job of the institutional church is to prepare and equip the saints (us) to go out into the world which is our field of service. Whatever our calling is (our work, profession, etc.), that is our ministry to disciple those around each one of us. This is where we are to be the salt of the earth and the light upon the hill. The Lord is interested in every activity of man. That means the individual, the family, the church, the civil government and our work. They are all excellent opportunities for discipleship.

We are the body of Christ and as such we are His instruments to establish the kingdom of God and His will on earth as it is in heaven. We are the Church and the gates of hell cannot prevail against us.....as long as it is His will that is being done and not our own. And if God be for us, who can be against us?

The Lord Jesus Christ says: Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest. John 4:35

What are we waiting for? Let's get started. Let's wear our armour of God and bear the most powerful weapon which is the Holy Word of God.

25 TIPS FOR A BETTER LIFE IN 2008

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.
3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My purpose is to do what I should and not what I want today.'
4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.
6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
7. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you annot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.
9. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
11. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
12. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
13. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
14. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'

Taking Your Pet to the Vet

When your pet is sick and you need to take him to see a veterinarian:

1. Be on time for your appointment.
2. If your pet bites or scratches, warn the veterinarian and his staff so they know how to approach him.
3. Be as specific about your pet's problem as possible. The information you provide can help greatly to reach an accurate diagnosis and on that basis the outcome of the indicated treatment will be more effective. For example:

c Did your pet's symptoms appear gradually or suddenly?
c Is he listless or in pain (acute, dull, etc.)? Has his temperament changed?
c Is he losing or gaining weight? Eating normally?
c Is he able to urinate? Is the urine clear, watery, dark yellow or bloody?
c Is he able to defecate? Diarrhea? What color? Does he strain?
c Is he vomiting?
c Is he limping?
c Does he have convulsions? How often?
c Can he see? hear? smell?
c Any discharge from eyes? nose? ears? etc.?

4. Take a pen and a note pad to clearly write down any follow-up instructions from the veterinarian and ask him/her to be clear and precise.
5. Follow the veterinarian's instructions as directed.
If in the course of the treatment at home you notice any adverse reaction or a major change other than improvement, notify your veterinarian right away.
6. If a re-check visit is necessary, follow up with it.

May 1st, 2008 The National Day of Prayer


Since its inception, this blessed nation has faced enemies, both from without and from within, endangering its security, its prosperity and its way of life. In response the citizens can tremble at the threats or they can take a stand and defend their country, not necessarily with weapons and bombs in open war, but by recognizing that our Sovereign God is in control. The people of this nation need to be shaken up to undergo a true revival, submitting themselves to Him, asking for His guidance, wisdom and intelligence just as our forefathers did at the founding of this nation.
The battle is the Lords and He will give our enemies into our hands. (I Samuel 17:47)

Our Lord is looking for individuals who will trust in Him, persist in prayer and not become discouraged or overwhelmed by circumstances.
This Thursday, May 1st, let each one of us pray fervently on our knees asking for the forgiveness of our sins and disobedience, to accept our repentance and to intercede on our behalf for our nation.


Let us ask our Almighty God to be America's strength and shield again as we face our enemies while we still have time. The Lord stands ready to help if we will humbly come before Him.


The Lord is my strength and shield, my heart trusts in Him and I am helped. (Psalm 28:7)

"Negative Thinking" The Real Problem

As we become established in our new country with a new society, diverse ethnicity, different language and unfamiliar culture, we think about the future and what is ahead for us and our family. We must be careful to not fall into negative thinking, pessimism and discouragement.

Our attitude about life and the future can cause physiological changes in our body, that if negative, will lead to failure, disease and even death.

To prevent failure from happening, we have to hold on to hope, focusing our eyes on Jesus.

The Lord is in control and He has a plan for each one of His children.

For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord; plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Pet's First Aid Kit

In addition to learning basic first aid techniques it is a good idea to keep the listed items handy in order to be able to help your pet until you can get professional help. You should also learn about poisonous or toxic products you may have in the house and the antidotes for each one of them. Toxic products, should always be kept out of reach of children and pets.

Muzzle (bozál), rope, a long piece of cloth, stretcher (camilla), blanket, burlap sack (costal), towel, piece of heavy cardboard (cartón), leash.
Cage (jaula)
Cotton, gauze pads, roll of gauze.
Hydrogen peroxide, mineral oil, Kao pectate or Pepto bismol, tincture of Iodine, Alcohol, Bar of soap
Tweezers (pinzas), scissors (tijeras).
Paint sticks (paletas para agitar pintura), some magazines or newspapers, to make a splint in case of fractures.
Aluminum foil to cover some wounds.
Sock or stocking to put over the body in the case of birds with wing lesions.
10 c.c., 3 c.c. and insulin syringes.
Some empty plastic containers or bags to collect samples to take to the Veterinary Hospital.
Other items according to your specific situation.

The Care of Your Pets (El Cuidado de Sus Mascotas)




Today I am starting a new section concerning the care of your pets, particularly dogs and cats. You can submit your questions and comments in either English or Spanish and specify if you want your answer in either language.


Since we are in the U.S. in which the language is English, we should all make the effort to communicate in English to gradually incorporate and blend ourselves into our new society.

You should not consider this new section a substitute for prompt and adequate professional veterinary attention and you should always establish and maintain a cordial relationship with one or two competent veterinarians in your area. Keep their telephone numbers handy in case you need to seek help in an emergency.

The purpose is to educate pet owners in the formation of good judgment, decision making and appropriate actions that may help the survival and well being of the pet.

The information hereby presented will be derived from the author's experience as well as supplemented by your comments and information gathered from diverse sources.

Are we unhappy?

I hope you will all read to the end. Craig R. Smith writes:

"The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true, given the source, right? The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed, and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the President. In essence, 2/3's of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, ''What are we so unhappy about?'' Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter? Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job?Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time, and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state?Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter? I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough.Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all, and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital. Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family and your belongings. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90 percent of teenagers own cell phones and computers.How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world? Maybe that is what has 67 percent of you folks unhappy. Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S., yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have, and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here. I know, I know. What about the President who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The President who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same President who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The President that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks? The Commander-In Chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me? Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad? Think about it... are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the "Media" told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an ''other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable'' discharge after a few days in the brig. So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans? Say what you want, but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds, it leads; and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells , and when criticized, try to defend their actions by "justifying" them in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about "how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it this way"... Insane!Stop buying the negativism you are fed everyday by the media. Shut off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There is exponentially more good than bad. We are among the most blessed people on Earth, and should thank God several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative.

Being Responsible

As I was driving my pickup truck in the high Sonoran desert, where the temperatures can reach 105+ in the summer and the low 20's in the winter, I was rather upset to see dogs chained outside with no protection from the cold or sun and no visible source of drinking water. As I drove on I saw similar deplorable conditions for horses. It is sad, cruel and irresponsible on the part of the owners.

If we choose to have animals, especially dog and cats, we must understand that we are also acquiring the responsibility to care for them and to provide adecuate shelter, proper food and water, affection and medical care.

I wonder if such an insensitive attitude toward defenseless animals is an indication of a deeper spiritual problem that will manifest itself in cruelty and ruthlessness to one's fellow human beings.

As someone once said, "The more I know people, the more I love my dog..."
